Mission Statement:
The mission of Swain County Family Resource Center is to provide family centered services to children and families to achieve well-being through ensuring self-sufficiency, support, safety and permanency.

Background information:
In November 1997 a public forum was held in order to solicit public input in regards to services offered through the SCFRC. Participants made it clear that reaching families before they became involved with DSS was a top priority. Fortunately, the SCFRC works with numerous community partners so that pre-crisis referrals can be made from DSS, schools, churches, law enforcement and county health department
The Family Resource Center programs focus on community-based family support services, parent leadership, interagency collaboration, prevention services, high quality implementation of evidence-based and evidence-informed programs and practices, and a continuum of evaluation approaches.
The Family Resource Center is a grant-funded program over seen by Swain County Government. The Center is funded by grants and community donations. We have attached a letter to verify the grant funded status thru the county.
